Who we are:

We are an accounting firm providing bookkeeping to small and medium-sized businesses and tax preparation services. We are looking for an experienced team player to provide high quality customer service and tax preparation service to our clients.

This role:

- The Seasonal Tax Preparer will be responsible for gathering information, prepare and review personal income tax returns (T1).
- Knowledge of the Canadian Tax System for individuals, taxable income  and most common tax credits and deductions available for individuals.

- Proficiency with Excel and file management is required.

- Experience with TaxPrep is an asset but not required (we are willing to train the suitable candidate).

- Fluency in English and Brazilian Portuguese is required.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and review individual tax return accurately and efficiently using TaxPrep.

Receive and organize information and supporting documents provided by clients.
Identify missing information or documents and connect with clients to request them.
Create, edit and review working files as required.

Requirements:

- Proven experience in tax preparation including self-employment income.

- Experience filing GST/HST returns.

- Post secondary education in accounting is an asset. Students are welcome to apply.

- Fluency in English and Brazilian Portuguese is required.
- Attention to detail and accurate data entry are essential.
- Strong work ethic and confidentiality are a must.
- Able to respond emails with professionalism in a timely manner.
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Profile, file management)
- Able to set priorities and organize your work.
- Police check is required.
- This is a remote and temporary position. The candidate must have access to a computer and a reliable internet connection.

Job type:

Full-Time, Remote, Temporary. (mid-February to Abril)

Schedule:

From mid-February to April. 9am to 5pm (EST), Monday to Friday (flexible). 40h per week. This is a remote position, hourly paid.  Overtime may be required.

Compensation:

$20-$25 per hour (To be discussed in the interview. Based on experience)
